How I want to be remembered

Life is a precious gift from God. We must take care of it and cherish every moment that we have when we are still alive. Death, on the other hand may occur anytime; we can’t foresee what will happen to us in the future and everyone should accept death though it is so hard. I didn’t know any person who lives in this planet 1000 years or so, so we can’t say that we will not come to a time that we will all die. The bible said that we will all be judged in the second coming of Christ.
Other people even have plans what their coffin would be, the place of their burial, where they will be buried, and of course their last testaments. The challenges here are “Are you ready to leave the world?” Are you prepared to leave your loved ones and face the Almighty Father? “Did you already accomplish your role in earth?” Well, these questions are hard to answer right now. For me, I think I did not yet accomplish my tasks so Lord God, please give me some time. Back to the main topic, how I want to be remembered, I can’t hardly think what would the things I had done well to be remembered by other people when I die.
To go straight, I want to be remembered as a good son of God. Yes, not just because I always go to church in Sundays but because I help those who are in need like what Jesus had done. I don’t want to be a priest but I want to teach the words and deeds of God to the little children in my little ways. A good son to my parents and a good member of our family are also the things I want to be remembered. Yes, I know all of my classmates would choose these because all of us love our parents & family and of course if we will die they are the first community which remembers us. To be remembered as a good son and daughters of our parents, we must always show our love to them and always make them happy.
I also want to be remembered as a good leader, yes! If you’ll ask me, I was truly a good leader as well as a good follower in my Elementary and High School days and up to now. In my high school years, I even have held 3 Major Organizations in our institution/school but I successfully handled everything. The back fights of the teachers to me were terrible. I didn’t listen to those and still do my job as a leader and persevere to show them they were wrong. There were many problems I have encountered that time but my members and I successfully solved it. Time gone by and the bad feedbacks about my organization were lessening. At the end of the school year, I was even given recognition for a job well done in one of my organization’s activities. I know my teachers were proud of me and I know what they’ve done was just to encourage me to do my job better.
A good citizen in the Philippines or wherever I go is another thing I want to be remembered. Helping my fellowmen in need and following the law and government is very important to be a good citizen. I can proudly say that I have done this thing. Though I don’t like the person who leads the country particularly our outgoing president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo I usually follow the government’s programs because she was elected and voted by many of the Filipinos. So, we must accept her though for me she’s not good. J-walking is bad but I had done it before, now I have learned to follow the law and currently I don’t anymore do J-walking because I realized not just it is an offense but it is also dangerous for me like what happened in Luis Manzano in the movie “ In My Life”.
Another thing I want to be remembered is a good friend to my classmates and of course to my friends. Yes, I know I am a good friend! And a worst enemy, as I crack my jokes to my friends and classmates they always laugh and that is my little way to make them happy. Friends are very important to me because I can’t live without them. They said that your best friend is your worst enemy; yes it is true I already experienced it. We had some misunderstanding of my best friend before and we didn’t talk for a month. I first talk to him about the problem and then it gotten worst. I thought there’s no any super glue can fixed it, no welder and builder can rebuild our friendship again but I was determined to make friend of him again. Time passed and he talked to me about the problem and we fixed it. Now, we’re friends again. That’s how I cherish my friends and I hope they have same feeling to me.
Time is running so we must make out of it and cherish everything what is going today. You don’t know when you will say goodbye to your loved ones and I know it is hard. Mariah Carey even mentioned to one of her songs that we must give importance to the people around us while they’re still here with us; if we don’t a huge regret will occur in our hearts because we wasn’t able to express how important they were to us.
